Redistricting 101 — and what you can do about it!
Are you concerned about redistricting? Are you confused about redistricting? Do you want to get involved in the fight for fair maps and a healthy democracy? Please join us on Tuesday, February 23, for an informative presentation and Q&A with redistricting experts, Jane Pinsky and Lekha Shupeck.
Jane works with Common Cause NC and serves as the director of the NC Coalition for Lobbying & Government Reform, working to make government at all levels more open and accessible to the citizens of North Carolina. She has worked for nonprofit organizations focused on civil rights, women’s rights, family issues, tax reform, highway safety, children’s health, and other critical justice issues since 1978. Jane is also a founding member of CJJ.
Lekha is the North Carolina State Director for All On The Line, a grassroots movement to end gerrymandering and restore fairness to our elections and democracy ahead of 2021 redistricting. She is a Jewish South Asian woman who grew up in small-town North Carolina. She has a law degree from Duke University, a PhD from UNC-Chapel Hill, and she is an active member of CJJ-Wake County.
