March with CJJ at HKonJ!

March with CJJ at HKonJ!

HKonJ (Historic Thousands on Jones St) is a movement of more than 200 partnering organizations who will be gathering by the thousands in downtown Raleigh on Saturday, February 8, to advocate for the 14-Point People's Agenda, a comprehensive progressive platform developed under the leadership of the NAACP. If you would like to carpool from Durham, please sign up here — one group will leave at 7:30 (in time for the pre-march Shabbat service), and one group will leave at 8:30. Please RSVP to stay connected about additional meet up information; we look forward to marching with you!

  • 8:15 am Shabbat Morning Service at Shaw University's Thomas Boyd Chapel (Shaw University is located at 118 E. South Street; the Chapel is across S. Wilmington Street from Memorial Auditorium, between MLK Blvd and E. South Street)
  • 9:00 am Pre-Rally/People’s Assembly at the corner of S. Wilmington St. and E. South St. (near Shaw University)
  • 10:00 am March begins

Carolina Jews for Justice (CJJ) recognizes and respects the many ways members of our community observe Shabbat. We also acknowledge that when working in coalition with our non-Jewish partners, there will occasionally be events falling during the hours of Shabbat which might present a challenge and choice for our members. We fully support individuals who decide to participate or not participate at this event due to their own level of observance or comfort.
