WNC Votes Coalition Canvassing Event

It's easy. It's effective. And it's fun!

Throughout the summer, we will be talking with voters in different neighborhoods in Buncombe County about voting and issues that matter to them. This Saturday we are meeting and talking with voters in Black Mountain.

This type of nonpartisan canvassing is one of the most successful ways of increasing turnout among sporadic voters. How? It’s based on what’s called deep canvassing — a way of engaging in longer, more voter-centered conversations that build on voters’ feelings that their votes matter.

Every WNC Votes canvass includes a thorough training and practice time, and canvassers work in teams of two. First-timers are always welcome and find it easy to canvass with a buddy. Nonpartisan canvassing in pairs is as easy and rewarding as it is effective. We'll provide everything you need—training, voter lists, voting info materials, water and snacks—and we'll pair you up with a partner.
