Weekly Raleigh Affordable Housing Bond Text Bank - 80s Night!
Join the Carolina Jews for Justice Wake County Chapter for our first-ever weekly text banking program as we celebrate the new year playing your favorite hits from the 80's while we text Jewish residents and other voters together over zoom to identify supporters for the City of Raleigh’s Affordable Housing Bond that is on the ballot this election. This is part of the Chapter's efforts to ensure the bond is passed and also ensure a just implementation.
You will be contacted by an organizer after you RSVP and will receive a zoom link and other instructions in advance of the event. The texting is going to be done through a web application called "ThruText" - see 1 minute explainer video here on how it works. We would log on to this platform and send text messages to voters directly from our computer, and we would receive and respond to replies on our computers as well. The platform creates a made up phone number with a local area code so you wouldn't have to give out your personal phone number. Additional instructions and training will be provided at the beginning of the event.
