ONE Wake has two initiatives we will learn more about:

  1. Property Valuations and Taxes are Skyrocketing in Southeast Raleigh and Across Wake County This summer more than 100 Raleigh homeowners met through ONE Wake and have identified rising property taxes as a major pressure facing their household. Long time, low income homeowners are being displaced by rising property taxes in gentrifying neighborhoods. This is disproportionately impacting African American households.
  2. Increase Affordable Housing in Cary Most people who live, work or worship in Cary know the cost of housing is rising rapidly. Increasingly people who work in Cary providing needed services and our low income neighbors can’t afford to live in town. Our community benefits from a range of housing choices for all.
