Rosh Chodesh with CJJ
Join us for a monthly celebration of Rosh Chodesh. In Jewish tradition, the "head of the month" marks the transition between Jewish months with each new moon. In ancient times, towns and cities would alert others of the new month by sending a torch between each other to bring the light of the new moon and signal the change.
We gather to share, learn, and celebrate based on the messages and lessons of the month's liturgy. These gatherings will include sharing from each of us, as we'd like, and an activity that could range from body movement, art, writing, group reflection, and personal reflection. Each month brings new teaching and new activities.
- Our next Rosh Chodesh will fall on Wednesday, July 22, to welcome the month of Av.
- This event will take place on Zoom; please RSVP here and we will send out the link in advance of the event.
- If possible, please bring a candle to your space, which will be used in the ritual.
- Rosh Chodesh has traditionally be a "woman's holiday." CJJ is gender inclusive space that welcomes women, transgender, nonbinary, and gender-nonconforming folks. If you have questions, please contact Rachel Collman: [email protected]
