ICE Verifier Training & Purim Party
Our ancestors are calling out, Never Again Is Now. In the wake of the Never Again Alamance action this past November, here is the next step of our plan to continue to defend our immigrant neighbors from ICE and the rest of the deportation & incarceration machine.
In the face of growing threats to immigrant communities, CJJ and Never Again are working with Siembra NC and Siembra's undocumented leadership teams to train a network of allies throughout the Triangle who are prepared to act as first responders to local ICE activity. Once trained, participants become a part of Siembra NC's rapid response network in Central NC, which promotes greater safety for our immigrant neighbors. We invite people with driver's licenses who want to participate in Durham-area ICE Watch to attend. (If you don't live in Durham, you're still very welcome to attend! We are hoping to expand our coverage over time to as many places as possible.)
The training will go from 5:00-6:30, followed by a Purim party, which all are welcome to attend.
This is the third of a series of three identical trainings being offered between January-March.
