Purim is a Jewish festival held in the spring to commemorate the defeat of Haman's plot to massacre the Jews — a story about a(nother) time when oppressive government forces tried to commit genocide against an entire people. See below for a list of both virtual and in-person offerings from CJJ chapters and our partners:

  • March 15, 7:30pm — Join the National Council of Jewish Women for Not the Patriarchy’s Purim: A Feminist Celebration, featuring NCJW CEO Sheila Katz, NCJW Scholar in Residence Danya Ruttenberg, and special guest April N. Baskin, founding director of Joyous Justice, along with feminist advocates from across the country.
  • March 20, 2:00-5:00pm — CJJ-Durham/Orange County and JVP are teaming up to host a Purim party at the Eno! We will be having a Purim spiel, costume contest, mask decorating, and lots of hamentashen! Come and celebrate the holiday with us! Click here for more info and to RSVP!
