Please join us on Friday, May 7, at 5:00pm for a pre-Shabbat Participatory Budgeting* schmooze with Mayor Steve Schewel! Come learn more about this exciting program and cast your vote for how the City of Durham should spend $1 million of its budget this year for community organizations addressing racial, economic, and social injustice that directly impacts Durham residents.
*Participatory budgeting is a process that empowers people to vote on how a city allocates part of its budget. Participatory budgeting allows residents to identify, discuss, and prioritize public spending projects, and gives them the power to make real decisions about how money is spent.
