Midrash & Imagination: Writing The World We Want

Midrash & Imagination: Writing The World We Want

CJJ members have been invited to this community event by Dayenu. This event is not hosted by CJJ.

The prayer welcoming Shabbat each week contains the words “sof ma’aseh be’machsheva t’chila” — what ends in action begins in imagination.

Our movement for climate justice needs imaginationThat's why Dayenu is hosting our first ever visionary writing workshop: to gather these stories and draw on the collective wisdom of our experiences and the ancient Jewish literary tradition of midrash (stories based in Torah).

Please join Dayenu and artist-facilitator Arielle Tonkin for Midrash & Imagination: Writing The World We Want. This virtual workshop will take place on Sunday, April 30, at 4-6:30 ET on Zoom.

In this free workshop, we will find and center stories of imagination and resilience within the text of Jewish tradition and our lives. Participants will have the opportunity to study together and contribute new writing to be compiled and shared broadly.

This is a special opportunity to bring together climate-concerned friends and connect with Jewish climate activists across the country.
