Get Ready to Vote (virtual)
Many critical issues are at stake in this upcoming November election. That is why it is important to be ready to cast your ballot and to have a plan for voting. This non-partisan presentation by community organizer Ron Katz will explore:
- Confirming your voter registration status
- Obtaining your ballot
- Knowing which IDs are acceptable
- How to research candidates and other issues on the ballot
- How to develop and implement a plan to vote the entire ballot
Ron Katz has a deep knowledge and experience in community organizing and nonprofits. His last paid position was as Community Fund Director for the United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County. Ron currently focuses much of his time on issues of social justice, and he currently edits an e-newsletter on Voting & Democracy Rights for WNC and is focused on those issues in 2024. He is also the lead for the Carolina Jews for Justice West chapter for Democracy Rights and a member of the state advisory board of Common Cause NC among other affiliations.
