WNC Schlep to the Polls
RSVP to this EventWe are praying with our feet -
join us as we march to early vote!
Rev. Barber and Repairers of the Breach are asking us to march to the polls as a visible demonstration of our commitment to protect and participate in free and fair elections. This is a chance for Jews, and Jewish allies, to affirm our common values to protect democracy visibly and with action. Let's be clear: standing up for the right to vote is not a partisan issue, it's not a liberal or conservative issue, it's a universal right that we come together to protect. Our ancestors fought for the right to vote - marching and voting early is a visible way to defend democracy at a time when voter suppression is real. We'll walk .4 miles from New Mount Olive Baptist Church to Dr. Wesley Grant Southside Community Center to vote. We'll take photos and share it with friends to encourage others to get out and vote! Let's be proud and loud in our faith and our commitment to protect democracy.

Alongside a powerful, multicultural coalition uniting for racial, economic, and immigrant justice, we will gather for an inspiring public witness program featuring speakers, gospel music, a drumline, and giant butterfly puppets. Afterwards, we’ll schlep together 0.9 miles to the early voting site at the Old Guilford County Courthouse in downtown Greensboro (with return shuttles available).
Every voice and every vote is essential for moral, systemic change. Come schlep with us, show up in solidarity with our community, and make your voice heard at the ballot box!
