Disaster relief volunteer workday with Nechama
Join Carolina Jews for Justice and Indivisible AVL for a full day of disaster relief volunteering with NECHAMA - the only Jewish organization to offer sustained direct services in the US following the onset of a natural disaster. This involves physical labor, but no experience or special skills are needed - here's the FAQ page if you want more information! After RSVPing, you'll have to also fill out NECHAMA's online waiver form before coming out to site.
NECHAMA is currently deployed in western North Carolina for Hurricane Helene relief. Volunteering with NECHAMA may include mold remediation, stripping homes to the studs, removing mud from homes and clearing debris. NECHAMA volunteers have already completed more than 6,000 cumulative hours of volunteering! Join us and get dirty doing good!
