Collective Care Retreat: A Practice of Embodied Rest
CJJ members have been invited to this community event by Peace Hill. This event is not hosted by CJJ.
Facilitated by Shakira Bethea and Grace Wakeman with The Opal Collective and sponsored by Peace Hill.
This half day retreat is designed to provide rest and reconnection for activists, social change agents, and those creating a positive impact in our world. Participants will engage in an intention setting ceremony, receive healing practices for physical, mental, and spiritual nourishment, and practice mindful movements to remind the body of its innate wisdom. Self reflection through journaling will allow participants to connect more deeply with their inner selves, and to gain insights that can be applied to their everyday lives. A deeply restful sound journey will be offered to support participants in experiencing a sense of inner calm and peace. By investing in this time for self-care, nature, and restoration, activists and social change agents can continue to do their important work from a place of groundedness and inner strength.
